After surgery, cancer recurred and metastasized. Record of the days trying to coexist with cancer and live through with smile

Nov. 2024 : Mount Takao, gathering of pancreatic cancer patients and their families, onion cultivation, Mount Kintoki
I hiked Mt. Takao and Mt. Kintoki. After hiking, I had pain in my legs due to the numbness caused by the side effects of the anti-cancer drugs, but the pain disappeared when I warmed them up in a hot spring. The day after receiving an anti-cancer drug drip, I made furrows for onion seedlings. The shadow of my liver had gotten smaller, but there was still a small shadow on my lungs.

Oct 2024: Lake Juniko, Kamikochi, soccer, trip to U.S.
Despite undergoing anticancer drugs, October was a busy month. We went trekking at Lake Juniko and Kamikochi, and went to U.S. to see our grandchildren. After returning from U.S., my tumor markers dropped back to normal. I really felt the healing power of my grandchildren, and the importance of life with smile.

Sep 2024: Massage, numbness in the legs, soccer, travel
In preparation for the long-term battle against cancer, I started getting weekly massages. I started to experience numbness in my legs as a side effect of the anti-cancer drugs, but it was not affecting my daily life. With the cooler weather of autumn now, I started to enjoy playing soccer and traveling with my wife.

Aug – Sep 2024: Start of long-term chemotherapy treatment, reunion with friends on trip to Singapore
I started anticancer drugs after the surgery. I was reunited in Singapore with my old friends who had sent me messages of support during my fight against cancer.
